No. The Sleepist certification is an in-system professional-competency certification within the WorldSleep ecosystem — an internal professional-competency training certification. Its certificate is the “Sleepist Professional Competency Training Certificate,” issued to attest that the holder has completed the system's structured training and passed its assessment. The certificate is not a national vocational qualification, nor a practice license or medical certification, and it carries no legal standing for medical practice or diagnosis and treatment. Holders must comply with the laws and regulations of their country and region and must not use this certificate to conduct diagnostic or therapeutic activities beyond their lawful scope of qualification.

Yes, you can study while working. The flagship Sleepist program runs for about one year, delivered as 90 online study hours plus 90 hours of in-person practice; the in-person portion includes concentrated required practice, while the remaining components can be scheduled flexibly. The overall pace is designed with working learners in mind, so you can steadily complete the training and assessment alongside your job.
The certificate is valid for 3 years. Holders must complete the required continuing-education credits within the 3 months before expiry and submit at least one representative service case report; renewal is granted after the documentation review is passed. In principle, no. The required in-person practice is an essential part of completing the certification. In exceptional circumstances, you may apply to defer to the same type of practice in the next session, in principle no more than once, subject to the teaching arrangements of the current session.
The two belong to different systems and are independent yet complementary. Sleepist is an in-system professional-competency certification and an ecosystem-partner identity — a competency credential earned after completing structured training and assessment, and the certification is open to all applicants. The Diamond Talent Award is WorldSleep's annual ecosystem individual-contribution honor, recognizing outstanding individuals across the talent network and service network; it is awarded on merit, conferred together with a Diamond Talent trophy, an honorary certificate, and a unique number (WLDSLP-XXXX). Outstanding individuals who hold the Sleepist certification have a greater opportunity to enter the pool considered for the Diamond Talent Award.
